Winter Folk Magic

The Solstice Traditions collection is rooted in seasonal storytelling, inspired by winter solstice themes, quiet celebrations, and the symbolism of light returning through darkness. The designs combine illustrative warmth with a sense of stillness, capturing both festive and reflective elements of the season.

This collection includes holiday cards and coordinating patterns that feel timeless rather than trend-driven, offering imagery that can extend beyond a single season while still honoring winter’s atmosphere.

Design Process

The development of this collection focused on mood and narrative rather than literal holiday scenes. I began by exploring symbolic elements associated with winter traditions—light, gathering, nature in dormancy, and subtle celebration.

From there, I built compositions that balance negative space with detailed focal points, allowing each design to feel calm and intentional. The illustrations were refined digitally with attention to texture, tonal harmony, and adaptability across both print and pattern applications.
